R&D Applications Technician

As part of our market expansion in non-food R&D applications, and for our Galactic Innovation Center in Brussels (Anderlecht, close to the Erasmus campus), we are looking for a:

Reporting to the Corporate R&D Applications Manager, and in collaboration with our R&D Applications team, you will be responsible for carrying out application-oriented missions, mainly in cosmetology, in order to develop our knowledge of natural antimicrobials and other value-added molecules to maximize the value of results in target markets. An interest in food applications is an asset.

Your mission:

•Within our R&D Applications laboratory, you will manage the execution and reporting of technical projects related to non-food market developments, mainly in cosmetics.

•You will support the Corporate R&D Applications Manager in setting up a cosmetics laboratory, defining projects to be carried out, and drafting technical reports.

•Once the cosmetics laboratory is installed and implemented, you will develop formulations and perform tests defined with the Corporate R&D Applications Manager: small-scale product manufacturing, microbiological and physicochemical studies, sensory tests… within the framework of development projects for our natural solutions used in cosmetic applications.

•You will provide practical assistance for internal and external training sessions developed and organized by the department.

•You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the non-food applications laboratory (ordering necessary products, equipment maintenance, organisation etc.).

•You will produce product samples for our market development activities.

•You will contribute to drafting reports on various tests and project-related activities.

•You will assist in bibliographic research on specific topics.

•You will assist students and interns with their thesis or internship work in the department.

You hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Formulation, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, or Biotechnology (or equivalent through experience).

•Initial experience in cosmetology techniques or within a development laboratory is a plus.

•You have good knowledge of microbiology, especially shelf-life analysis and in physicochemistry.

•You are passionate about natural cosmetics and have a strong interest in the food industry.

•You have a good knowledge of French and technical English.

•You are proficient in MS Office.

•You are resourceful, rigorous, and proactive.

•You are able to multitask and meet deadlines.

•As good communicator, you have strong interpersonal skills.

•You are stress resistant.
