Job Details
Function
This position primarily provides commercial legal support to Brunswick’s European operations. Working in tandem with the EMEA Contract & Litigation Paralegal, the role holder will provide commercial support to the European operations and serve as a business partner to the European business leaders. In addition, (s)/he will provide ancillary support to the International and Commercial Counsel in regions outside of Europe. From time to time, the role holder will also provide general commercial support for the Legal Department, including real estate, financing, acquisitions, divestitures, and general commercial support.
Accountabilities:
- Provide front-line commercial legal support for Brunswick’s European operations in conjunction with EMEA Contract & Litigation Paralegal.
- First point of contact and Collaborate with other Brunswick attorneys and paralegals to provide support in specialty areas including human resources, ethics, intellectual property, litigation and compliance.
- Support finance functions with credit and financing programs. (e.g. factoring agreement)
- Assist Corporate Secretary on European corporate maintenance tasks (changing the director of foreign offices) and internal restructurings.
- Supervise management of legal databases for contracts, claims and litigations, and the maintenance of permanent and statutory filings.
- Support mergers and acquisitions team on strategic transactions.
- Provide ancillary support to the International and Commercial Counsel in regions outside of Europe.
Profile
You are a bright, creative, and talented individual who enjoys working with some of the world's greatest brands, in an environment that blends cultural, multi-lingual. you have the following skills:
- A law degree
- 4-8 years of experience in general commercial transaction law , including M&A and cross-border transactions
- Excellent level of English (both written and verbal). Any other European language is a plus
- Clear, concise, effective communicator
- Real team player, you also demonstrate integrity, initiative and resilience
- Intellectual curiosity
- Willingness to take on new challenges
- Customer oriented, you are problem-solving minded and flexible with a developed sense of initiative
- Computer literate MS Office suite
- Good interpersonal skills
