Function
The purpose of the Purchasing team is to ensure the search, selection and validation of suppliers, the negotiation of purchasing contracts and the evaluation of supplier performance in mass production for all pan European operations.
As a Senior Purchasing Planner you will be in a key management position in the Purchasing Department, responsible for the purchasing planning function.
Main responsibilities
- Create and utilise data sources to monitor overall purchasing department performance:
- Financial performance
- Supplier selection
- Supplier performance
- Other key performance indicators (kpis)
- Provide management reports with conclusions and recommendations based on detailed data analysis, and participate in management meetings to facilitate clear decision-making for stakeholders:
- Japan HQ management
- European HQ management
- Pan-European production company management
- Support senior management in purchasing strategic planning
- Oversee change management in suppliers during mass production
- Product and process changes
- Localisation projects
5. People Management (1 staff)
Tasks
- Creating, implementing and follow up of department KPI in the different systems
- Analyze and consolidate data, create new reports, update and improve existing reports
- Support the management in activities of standardization and process improvement
- Coordination of yearly supplier evaluation process
- Coordination of the future digitalization process for the purchasing main activities
- Purchasing administrative tasks (Document ERP and document management systems and other tools)
- Develop, implement and improve policies and procedures to improve operations and function of the department.
- Generate periodic reports on purchasing activities with accuracy to identify and process data source
Profile
- Experience in a manufacturing or commercial role preferably in an industrial environment.
- High standard in Microsoft office applications especially Excel (ideally Pivot, Macro’s, Power Query, VBA) and additionally Word, PowerPoint, also MS Project an advantage
- Ability to work in a team, and communicate at all levels of management and staff
- Logical and methodical approach
- Some experience in digitalization (of purchasing activities) advantageous
- Some experience in ERP systems an advantage
- Process orientated
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Organizational skills
