Function
The Senior SO officer evaluates the danger taken in an investment projects according to the strategy of BIO. His/Her mission is not to erase the risks, but to identify them and to provide solutions to circumvent them to face them.
The risk manager constantly analyzes the economic context linked to his/her field of activity. He/She studies financial trends and must be able to anticipate the vagaries of the market. He/She puts in place preventive solutions so that the company is not caught off guard.
Before making an investment, setting up a professional collaboration or modifying methods, the Senior So officer gives his/her opinion.
On the lookout for new legal management standards, the special operations manager also knows how to go into the field so as not to disconnect from reality.
- Responsibility for the monitoring of the projects @ risk (non-performing assets , or potentially non-performing assets, loan and equity) in BIO’s portfolio of projects, in various sectors: project finance – financial sectors – SMEs.
- Propose actions to be undertaken to preserve BIOs’ interests while guaranteeing long-term financial and developmental viability of the project
- Negotiate and interact with client’s senior management and other stakeholders in order to find solutions
- Lead restructuring and/or realization of assets and workout strategies,
- Be a member of the Special Operations Committee whose mandate is to supervise the projects @ risk (proposal of strategies to be undertaken to BIO relevant authorities, and supervise implementation of action plans)
- Prepare ad hoc reporting on developments on projects @ risk to relevant BIO authorities
- Participate in the formulation of recommendations for the improvement of guidelines and procedures in the investment process, based on lessons learned from supervision of projects @ risk
- Perform any other tasks required by the Portfolio Department mission, and more specifically monitoring of significant projects
- Be the backup of the manager
Profile
- Master in Business Administration/Finance or related field
- Familiarity with portfolio monitoring concepts and significant expertise in credit risk management
- Min. 8 years relevant experience in credit analysis and investments in developing markets including significant expertise in recovery and restructuring processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Financial auditing and/or Controlling skills
- Experience in working with developing markets is required
- Language skills: written and spoken English + at least one other EU languages (Dutch/French/Spanish…)
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Willingness to travel, meet and discuss with clients
