The Opportunity:
We are excited to currently be recruiting for an Apprentice Assistant Finance Administrator to join us on an 18-month FTC basis at our Head Office in Bristol. This is a development post and as such requires attendance at Bristol City College on Wednesdays at their college green campus, this day will mainly be face to face learning. This is a great opportunity for an energetic self-starter who is keen to take their first steps on the path to an accountancy qualification as part of a friendly team.
As assistant Finance Administrator you will be supporting the Finance Administrator in the processing of purchase ledger, credit cards and co-worker expenses for Triodos Bank, ensuring compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures. The role assists in projects and collaborates with audit (internal and external) and Group Finance. You will be responsible for supporting co-workers of all levels across the bank to adhere to financial processes and policies and to complete actions on a timely and accurate basis.
This role also offers the benefits of flexible hybrid working with a blend of office and working from home.

What we are looking for:
To be successful in this role, you will be looking to build and gain experience of working in a finance team and gaining an understanding the purchase ledger process and other administrative tasks such as processing expenses. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (and Microsoft Office apps) and ability to use finance systems is essential
With an adaptable and flexible approach, you will have a friendly but professional manner and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
This opportunity involves enrolling on an AAT level 2 course via Bristol City college, GCSE Maths & English qualifications are required to enrol on this course.

Key Responsibilities will require you to:
- Check suppliers’ invoices/credit notes against purchase order information, dealing appropriately with any queries
- Process purchase invoices and other expenditure journals, ensuring all records are reconciled and stored in accordance with internal procedures
- Assign VAT codes in accordance with internal guidance
- Review and ensure suppliers' accounts are reconciled in accordance with internal requirements
- Maintain purchase ledger authorisation matrix, ensuring changes are appropriately approved and documented
- Keep database of suppliers up to date in accordance with internal guidelines
- Prepare weekly BACS for supplier payments and raise manual file note payments in accordance with agreed procedures
- Process expense claims and credit card claims ensuring expenditure is in line with internal credit card policy.
- Develop effective working relationships with co-workers of all levels across the Bank to support co-workers to adhere to financial processes and policies and to complete actions on a timely and accurate basis
- Provide ad hoc expenditure information and analysis to senior staff across the Bank
- Maintain, update, and communicate process notes for own areas of responsibility
- Review the Finance Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) identifying and recommending updates and actions
- Contribute to projects within the Finance department, other departments and organisation-wide, providing expert support and challenge.
- Comply with all regulatory obligations and internal governance to help ensure ethical behaviour which delivers fair outcomes for TBUK customers
