The Opportunity
The Head of Enterprise and Financial Risk Management (ERM) is a pivotal role for the bank, accountable to the UK Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and responsible for the Enterprise and Financial Risk Management team, including the Risk Strategy, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite, and oversight of Prudential Risk.
In this role you will be a champion for the Risk function, driving evolution structurally and culturally as the bank grows and the Risk Management Framework develops to support this growth. As Head of Enterprise Risk, you will attend the Asset & Liability Committee and will oversee the Integrated Second Line Risk Reporting to the Core Management Committee and Board Risk Committee. You will also specifically have responsibility for the 2nd line risk strategy, assurance and challenge over Enterprise Risk, Model Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk and Strategic Risk.
As part of the Leadership Team for the Risk Function, you will be integral to creating a high performing environment, developing, and coaching others to reach their maximum individual potential.
This is a full-time opportunity offered on an 18 month – 24-month fixed term contract basis and offers flexible hybrid working. Typically, this will require you to work from the Bristol office 2 days per week with a choice of working from home or the office on the other days. Some travel to our other office locations and our head office in the Netherlands will be required.
This role is designated as a Certification Regime role within the Senior Managers and Certification Regime under the category “Significant Harm” because the role has a high level of responsibility and autonomy of action within the authority delegated to it.
In addition, key responsibilities will require you to:
- Develop and drive the risk strategy for oversight of market, liquidity, capital, model and strategic risk, including the drafting, updating and implementation of relevant policies, processes, and guidance.
- Embed, maintain, and enhance the bank’s Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework (RMF), 3 Lines Model, Risk Taxonomy and Risk Appetite Framework
- Develop and execute the Enterprise Risk oversight assurance plan, for Strategic, Liquidity, Capital, Market risks and Treasury Operations
- Own responsibility for the development, maintenance, monitoring and education of Risk Culture
- Attend and deliver insight in the Asset and Liabilities Committee (as a member), Non-Financial Risk Committee and Monthly Credit Committee, to Deputise for the Chief Risk Officer at these and other Senior Committees when required, and be recognised as a trusted partner for the Senior Management Team
- Comply with all regulatory obligations and internal governance to help ensure ethical behaviour, working to deliver good customer outcomes and avoiding foreseeable harm in line with Triodos’ practice of putting customers at the heart of what we do.
What we are looking for:
To be successful in this role you have will have extensive UK Prudential Risk knowledge, operating comfortably and confidently at senior levels, with an ability to bring foresight, insight, and challenge to day-to-day activities.
You will possess a depth of relevant experience working in a financial services organisation, including within a 3 Lines of Defence model and a strong knowledge of UK financial services regulation is essential.
In addition, an excellent understanding of the UK prudential regulatory regime, including the ICAAP and ILAAP requirements and Recovery and Resolution planning, ideally with a regulatory background, will be required for this opportunity.

Offer
In return for your hard work and expertise, you will receive a salary of between £90,000- £104,000 - Full time equivalent salary depending on experience, plus access to our extensive benefits package, where most of our benefits are non-contributory.
