Central Data Steward (36-40 hours per week)

you will be pivotal in establishing and maintaining robust data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure our data remains a trusted asset. You will address questions such as, “How can we ensure data is consistent and reliable across the organization?” and “What frameworks and controls are needed to comply with regulatory requirements and support informed decision-making?”, but also “How do we define a structured approach to further embed Data Governance”.

How you will make a difference

Take action

  • Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, standards, and best practices
  • Serve as the bridge between business and technical stakeholders to define and drive accountability around data ownership
  • Oversee and enhance data quality, integrity, and security across the organization
  • Drive initiatives to classify, catalogue, and document critical data assets
  • Facilitate data governance councils and working groups to drive adoption and awareness
  • Lead the maturation of the Data Governance team further
  • Drive data literacy initiatives to ensure stakeholders understand and effectively use data in their roles
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, BCBS 239)
  • Support the organization in resolving data-related issues, risks, and incidents

As our new Central Data Steward, you will join our Data Office team, which consists of passionate data professionals working closely with multiple teams on various organizational priorities. You will be part of a collaborative and open-minded group, where transparent communication and personal growth are encouraged. Profile

While overseeing the implementation of a data governance framework, a co-worker asks for your advice on the use of a Data Governance tool. You seamlessly move from policy discussions to hands-on data quality assessment, thriving in a fast-paced environment without losing sight of the details. You understand that data governance is a team effort and work closely with amongst other Data Stewards, Central Privacy Office, Legal & Compliance and Business Owners. Thanks to your structured approach and clear communication, you help the organization navigate complex data challenges. Your profile includes:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (work / thinking leve
  • An assertive and action driven mindset
  • Socially responsible; you share our mission to create and realize positive impact
  • Affinity with Agile/Scrum ways of working and data management tools
  • Pro-active, analytical, and communicative
  • Around 5 years of experience in a similar role, such as (lead) Data Governance Specialist or Data Steward
    • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and regulatory compliance
    • Experience with data cataloguing, metadata management, and data lineage tools
    • Experience in the financial and/or regulatory sector
