Function
The product buyer/planner is responsible for the replenishment & buying of the finished goods and/or parts and accessories thanks to a strong analytical approach. The product planner-buyer collaborates closely with demand planning and supply planning roles throughout BME and Mercury Marine as well as external suppliers.
Accountabilities:
- Manages supplier relationship.
- Proactively seeks for business improvements and organizes supplier reviews.
- Keeps regular contact with the sales areas and the Customer Service team on product availability.
- Handles operational activities related to manufacturing quality issues, production planning scheduling.
- Manages the follow-up on parts for production planning at engine manufacturers.
- Follow-up and resolution of discrepancies when required.
- Monitors and adjusts procurement plan as needed based on demand changes.
- Initiates PO placement with the supplier and does the necessary follow-up for timely delivery and transportation.
- Expedites parts shortages in response to backorders or non-forecasted demand.
- Accountable for a system driven requirements process through maintaining the material master settings that drive MRP.
- Provides comprehensive analysis of requests on a timely basis with accurate results.
- Assists in auditing and identifying bottlenecks in current processes and supports the team or the organization for improvements (e.g. back-order analysis, fill rate bridge).
- Supports the Product Planning Manager and the Engine Supply Chain SIOP Lead for any analysis that may be required
Profile
The ideal candidates are bright, creative, and talented individuals who enjoy working with some of the world's greatest brands, in an environment that blends cultural, multi-lingual, and ethnic backgrounds, with:
- Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Foreign Trade
- 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficient in Excel and other data mining/reporting tools as well as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Fluent in French and English, other language is a plus.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment.
- Strong communication capabilities with internal and external parties
- Good verbal and written skills
- Satisfy the customers requirements
- An eye for detail
