Technical & Securities (T&S) Team Leader – Bristol
Working within the wider Business Banking Operations and Change team, this role is responsible for leading and managing the Technical and Securities team to perform lending operations from the point at which credit approval is obtained through to pay-out, including the ongoing administration of all business lending on the banking system.
Also potentially known as Loan Operations Manager or Credit Operations Manager, the T&S Team Leader is responsible for managing continuous process improvement activity within the Technical and Securities team to deliver excellent customer experience and efficient and effective operations for both the T&S team and wider Business Banking department.
Responsibilities:
Team leadership
- Monitoring and reporting the performance of the team against agreed standards with oversight of all loan servicing processes
- Manage a highly skilled team to deliver a professional image of Triodos to Business Banking customers and their advisers
- Identification of any bottlenecks to team performance, including planning and implementation of changes required to address these
- Maintaining an overview of the production and checking of standard and bespoke loan agreements to ensure their legal, regulatory, and operational efficacy throughout
- Ensuring the team provides the necessary range of accurate and timely reports on the loan portfolio including regulatory reporting on forbearance, arrears management, repayments, covenant monitoring and vulnerable customers
- The administration of all existing or new BB lending (both standard and bespoke loans including project finance facilities and syndicated lending activity)
- Delivering loans to point of pay out, ensuring that all formalities have been completed, including managing the perfection of security for new and existing facilities
- Delivering the pay-out and post pay-out administration of all Business Banking lending
- Ensuring the team manage the servicing and maintenance of the Bank’s loan book on an ongoing basis including the issue of Letters of Waiver, Variation and Consent, to deliver effective credit administration on an ongoing basis
Continuous improvement
- Managing a programme of continuous improvement within the team to create efficient and effective operations for both the T&S team and wider Business Banking department
- Contribute to strategic direction of the department, including implementation of any process, training, or technical activities required within T&S team to achieve business objectives
- Working with the Business Banking Analyst to streamline operational reporting processes which are managed within T&S team
- Critically appraise the current procedures and practices of the bank as they relate to the T&S team and drive change to optimise our ways of working.
- Participate in cross functional project teams to implement changes within Business Lending, including within cross-country domain meetings as required
Internal controls and governance
- Act in an advisory capacity to other members of the Business Banking team
- Ensure data integrity of all lending and security information held on TBUK banking systems in line with all regulatory guidelines, including BASEL, CRR, etc.
- Ensure CDD and OCDD are undertaken for BB Lending customers in accordance with TBUK Internal Regulations
- Ensure effective control and monitoring systems always exist and that that the Bank’s working procedures are complied with by the team.
- Ensure that internal controls and governance are adhered to and followed and be able to demonstrate adherence to these by keeping appropriate records
To be successful in this role, you will hold experience of working in a loan/credit administration function of a reputable bank/financial institution and specific experience with bespoke lending transactions. Good commercial awareness and understanding of the broader context within which the T&S team operates. Professional training or qualifications in a numerical/business-related discipline and/or in-house training on loan/credit administration.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to communicate confidently and clearly with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Experience of managing financial crime risk and client due diligence procedures would be beneficial.
